One master bedroom with bathroom. The other two bedrooms have a queen bed and bunk beds so the house can accommodate 10 people. The home also has a hot tub to enjoy after a long day enjoying the lake activities. Just off the dock is solid, sand bottom lake with crystal clear water. For the golfers out there, there are 3 nice courses all within 10 miles of cabin. This has been our personal cabin for a few years - and you can easily go together with 2 other families and still have family sleeping quarters. Each room has a queen bed (for adults) and a bunk bed where the bottom bunk is a full size bed and top is a twin. The "master" bedroom (in cabin terms) has a queen bed for adults with room to put a few blow up mattresses in. The entire property is historic. It is part of Cyrana Lodge. Cyril and Anabel d'Ath bought the property in the 1930's (hence Cyril and Ana = Cyrana). This cabin was the maid/workers quarters which is evident by the bedrooms with doors. The main floor was used as the dining hall. We have restored the original wood floors but modernized the interior. Historical documents show that John Dillinger was a guest here (google him). During fall and winter rentals, many people enjoy ice fishing on the lake. Miles and miles of snowmobile and manicured cross country ski trails. The southwestern corner of our property usually has a pair of eagles nesting between May and September and fledgelings often forage along our shoreline or circle the house. Nearby Bemidji offers a variety of family activities including hiking and biking on state trails, several golf courses, and major retail chains. Many of our guests book to attend programs at the Sanford Center or Bemidji State while getting in some fishing. or other activity. * If your party much larger than seven, consider also booking our companion property, The Point, a quarter mile up the road (listing number 1392352) which handles 6, or combined, around 13. Renting the two properties is also the solution for groups who want a shared vacation experience while maintaining separate family accommodations.

Westwood is surrounded on three sides by forest and fronts on 250 feet of lakeshore on the beautiful, clear water Moose Lake. Westwood is recently remodeled with 3 bedrooms and 3 baths, and beautifully landscaped including a veggie garden. We are about a four hour drive North of Minneapolis, 30 minutes east of Bemidji and 2 miles down a winding road into the woods off the Ladyslipper Scenic Byway between Cass Lake and Blackduck. Westwood has a private dock and available fishing boat. Pontoons are available for rent from the adjacent Moose Lake Resort. Should your needs exceed sleeping for eight, additional similar cabins are available nearby. There are plenty of activities to enjoy while on Moose Lake: fishing, hiking, biking, canoeing, sail boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, disc golf, horsehoes, pickleball, basketball, volleyball only to name a few! There is a "Teen Lounge" filled with games and activities as well. Several golf courses are close by and a onsite course is good for a little play.. Awaken to the sound of loons in the morning and enjoy all manner of bird life during the day. Some of our renters have been coming for over 40 years. Last minute openings may occur and so do not hesitate to call. Rental is usually by the week from Saturday to Saturday during the Summer rental season, yet prior to June 15 and after Labor Day there is more flexibility and discounted rate. In the fall, hunt the adjacent forest. In the winter, ice-fishing is popular on Moose Lake. Rustic and cozy, the cabin rests on a hilltop among 40 acres of woods along a paved road in northern Minnesota. This unforgettable cabin is nestled privately in the woods and provides a top level lookout, you can even watch the stars from your bed, watch the storms roll in, eagles and swans fly by, and the wild animals pass through. Design inspired by a fire watchmen's tower. Three levels, the top and bottom levels for sleeping, separated by the center level for privacy -the center level for communing/eating and cooking. Perfect for a single couple or couples/families traveling together. The bottom level has a beautiful wood stove, carved wood wall decor, a cozy queen bed, a private and custom made tile bath/shower with double shower heads, there is a futon and TV with a DVD player. The upper level boasts a deck that wraps around the entire cabin overlooking a vast area to spot wildlife and stars. There are 2 queen beds, a little love seat, TV and another custom bathroom with a double headed shower. Catch the sunset over the pines, or the view with a cup of coffee on the deck. In the Winter you can see the sledding hill right from the kitchen as the family cruises by in snow sleds and wake up to deer feeding at the base of the hill. Stocked with all eating and cooking utensils, walking & ATV trails, a little lake to paddle around on in our paddled boats, and beautiful grounds (200 acres) to roam around on. If you plan on using the futons as beds- you must bring your own linens for using them. Activities in the WINTER: We provide 2 pairs of snow shoes, 2 snow sleds, ciders and cocoa, and holiday decor if you are feeling in the spirit. Perfect Winter cabin rental. My absolute, favorite time of year for this cabin. The cabin is right next to a great hill to sled on, you can watch the family sled while you have a hot cider! We feed the deer in the winter so throughout the day you may see the deer come right close to the cabin to feed! They are amazing to watch! The snowmobile trail is a quick quarter mile ride away, you do not have to trailer your sleds. There is also a great ice fishing lake one mile down the road- Moose Lake. So bring your portables or wheel houses! Light up the wood fire stove and play the provided board games, read a book and enjoy the sunsets, cross fingers for a fresh snowfall so you can wake up to a winter wonderland. The perfect cozy getaway to nestle in for a memory making family getaway that is flat out, out of the ordinary. The deer visiting alone is the coolest thing to see:)))) This is also GREAT for snowmobilers to stay right on the trail and gather at night for a big meal. ATVers are also welcome and can enjoy our trails on site or travel 25 minutes to four wheel the epic ATV trails south of Zerkel in White Earth. SUMMER VISITS: Explore these big woods and many trails and discover vast amounts of flora and fauna. Hunt mushrooms in the spring, rent a golf cart to cruise around on and catch a breeze. Watch stunning sunsets from the deck, picnic or have a family reunion potluck at the pavilion. Enjoy the paddled boats for free to all guests and tool around our little fishing lake. Not a swimming lake, but great to spot turtles and wildlife, another excellent spot to catch the sunset and maybe even some fire flies. Have a camp fire, we have wood stocked on site and grill out if you would like! There are many fishing lakes in the area too. Walk, bike or ATV our trails. Bring the kids to the little playground, play horse shoes, or badmitten, or even bring your own favorite yard games:) We are 25 minutes away from Itasca State Park and old downtown Bemidji. Itasca has the headwaters of the great Mississippi that you can walk across, take a ferry around the lake, rent bicycles for their MANY bike trails or rent boats, eat at the lodge or swim at their beautiful beach that has showers and bathrooms. In downtown Bemidji there are so many events throughout the summer: fairs, dragon boat festivals, art festivals, holiday celebrations and more. Downtown is great for walking, eating great food, shopping and taking pictures by the famous Paul Bunyan and Babe statues.

The cabin is tucked into the forest with rolling hills, solid forest and tons of trails. The little lake is secluded, not developed and the kayaks/canoes/paddle boats are free to you to use. The cabin was designed for a couple but we added a bunk bed because so many of our guests want to bring more family. There is a private campfire area landscaped in a little cove with big boulders right out the cabin's front door. The cabin has a queen bed and a bunk in the open living space. A propane fireplace sets in the center of the cabin, a full kitchen that is equipped with all eating/cooking utensils, coffee maker, toaster, blender, crock, & baking sheets, an open living space, the bathroom is custom built with a double headed shower with a built in bench, custom sink and shelves, all the linens are provided and meticulously cleaned for the kitchen, bed, & bath. We outfit the cabin with children's games, coloring, etc. , adult's games like cribbage, family conversation starters, puzzles, books & magazines & don't forget the DVD collection if you want to hole up and watch movies! Outside, the deck wraps around so you can watch the wildlife, which has included bear, turkeys, deer, tons of squirrels, a porcupine that tried to eat our front door, birds and many others. We supply chairs for sitting and a charcoal BBQ grill. A starry sky here is amazing and can be so quiet at night it is gorgeous. A Winter stay is my favorite, as we leave snowshoes for the guests and it is the most secluded time of the year. Our guests have even brought and decorated Christmas trees! Since we are right on the snowmobile trail guests can hop right on their snowmobiles for a day on the trails too. ATVs are welcome here as well and there are epic trails 25 minutes away. 100's of feet of forest separate you from the nearest anything on the property, the cabin is private. There are 200 acres all together to explore and hundreds of acres of public land too. We operate as The Black Lantern Resort and privacy is our forte. All the acreage is very fun to explore, we do have a golf cart for rent too. The lake is great for spotting wildlife and beavers since they built a hut and dammed up the lake, it is fun to fish too, not for swimming though. We have a little dock house that has life jackets and some fishing gear in it that our guests are welcome to use. A playground is there for the children too:) We encourage people to bring bicycles as well. Please, please understand that we do not accept pets, we can't do it, please do not ask. We have had costly damage done from when we used to welcome pets. We now are pet free inside the cabins to curb further pet damage and cater to those with allergies. People with allergies take this very seriously because a pets presence can physically harm them. Thank you for understanding our policy to protect our cabins and guests.
